I completed my Ph.D. in School Psychology from Mississippi State University, where I completed additional training required to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Currently, I am completing my post-doctoral fellowship under the supervision of Dr. Merricks, Licensed Psychologist. Throughout the years, I obtained extensive experience providing behavioral, developmental, and academic intervention services to individuals ages 2 to 25 presenting with a wide range of diagnoses, from Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to various genetic conditions (e.g., CHARGE syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome, etc.). With a doctorate in School Psychology, I have extensive experience conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations, including educational, developmental, and diagnostic assessments for ASD in clinical and academic settings.
My doctoral internship was in health service psychology at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health – Children’s Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Services center in Philadelphia, PA. While at Devereux, I had the opportunity to further my skill set when working with individuals with ASD and intellectual disabilities; primarily focusing on providing treatment to those presenting with significant behavioral concerns, including severe aggression, self-injurious behaviors, and elopement. Additionally, I engaged in the provision of parent training and direct care staff on the topic of behavior management.
I began my postdoctoral fellowship at the University of South Florida’s Rothman Center for Pediatric Neuropsychiatry. There I provided treatment to patients with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Tourette syndrome, and related anxiety-based disorders. Furthermore, I assisted with a large-end research study sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) examining the effectiveness of detecting tic disorders with specific measures.
I am excited to offer individual therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults presenting with behavioral or emotional concerns using principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
